Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-19.

Remembite stores the meals and water you log through your AI assistant, the body weight readings you or your assistant log, the photos you attach to your meals, and your nutrition goals. That can reveal information about your health. This page lists what we collect, why, where it comes from, who receives it and how you control it. It gives the disclosures described in RCW 19.373.020 of the Washington My Health My Data Act. It adds to our Privacy page, which covers analytics, cookies and subprocessors.

What we collect and why

CategoryWhat it includesWhy we collect it
Meal logsEach food you log: the name, the words you used for it, quantity and unit, weight in grams, calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, sugar, saturated fat and sodium. Also the meal type, the date and time, your time zone and which connected app logged it.To save your meals and show them back to you in your AI assistant and in the Remembite dashboard.
Estimate detailsA low and high weight and calorie range for each food, a confidence level (high, medium or low), the assumptions behind the estimate, and the USDA reference food it was compared with.To show how reliable each number is and to flag numbers that look off.
Water logEach drink of plain water you log: the amount in ml, the amount and unit you gave (ml, l, fl oz or cup), the date and time, your time zone and which connected app logged it.To save your water and show your daily total back to you in your AI assistant and in the app.
Weight logEach body weight reading you log: the weight (stored in whole grams, between 20 and 500 kg), the date and time, and your time zone. You choose whether it is shown in kg or lb, and we keep that choice. Remembite also calculates a 7-day average from your readings. To save your weight and show your readings, your 7-day average and your progress toward a goal weight back to you in your AI assistant and in the app.
Meal photosUp to 4 photos per meal that you attach: the photo, a small preview and the meal it belongs to. Location and other camera data are removed before the photo is stored. A photo is a record only: Remembite does not read it or estimate calories from it. Photos are kept as files on our own server in Frankfurt, up to 250 MB per account. To keep a picture with the meal you logged and show it back to you in the app and in the Remembite card in your AI assistant.
Personal foodsPhrases you save, such as “my oats”, with the food, usual portion and raw or cooked state. Meal templates, such as “my usual breakfast”, with their items. To recognize your usual foods and repeat saved meals.
Nutrition goalsDaily targets for calories, protein, carbs and fat, an optional daily water target in ml and an optional goal weight, with the date each target starts. To show your progress against your goals.
Consent recordsFor each consent you give, withdraw or decline: the consent text version, a fingerprint (SHA‑256) of that text, the date and time, where it happened and which app was connected. To keep proof of what you agreed to and when.
Usage eventsFor each action your AI assistant takes on your account: the tool used, the connected app, how long it took, how many items and questions were involved and the outcome. To run the service and investigate errors.

We use this data to provide the account you asked for. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.

Remembite has no dedicated fields for medical records, diagnoses, medications or body measurements other than the weight readings you log, or precise location. Photos you attach have their location and camera data removed before they are stored. Free-text names that you or your assistant give to foods, saved foods, meal templates and estimate notes are stored as given, so anything in them is stored too.

Where the data comes from

  • Your AI assistant. When you ask Claude to log food, it sends the foods and the nutrient values it worked out. When you ask it to log water, it sends the amount, the unit and the time. When you ask it to log your weight, it sends the weight, its unit (kg or lb) and the time. It also sends your nutrition goals, including a water goal, when you ask it to set them, and the personal foods and meal templates you ask it to save. It does not send photos: you add them yourself, in the app or with the add-photo button in the Remembite card, and the AI is not offered the tool that adds them. Remembite saves the values it receives. It compares meal values with a reference catalog based on USDA FoodData Central and, if they look far off, asks you to confirm before saving. ChatGPT works the same way when you connect Remembite to it. Remembite only receives the fields its tools accept: the meal items and values, not your conversation.
  • You, in the dashboard. You can also set or change your nutrition goals there, including your goal weight, and add, edit or delete weight readings.
  • Remembite. We add the confidence level, the reference food and the consent records.

When you first connect an AI assistant, Remembite shows a consent screen before it stores any meal, food, water, weight, photo or goal data. It has two checkboxes. The first covers collecting and storing your meal logs, meal photos, water logs, weight logs, personal foods and nutrition goals. The second covers sending those records to the assistant you connect when you ask it to read them. We record each choice with the text version, date and time. If we update this notice, as we did to add water, body weight and meal photos, you accept the new version in the app before the new part works. Before your first weight reading is saved, you must accept the part of the notice that covers weight. Before your first photo is uploaded, you must accept the part that covers photos. Everything you already use keeps working. Remembite is for people aged 13 and over; see Children in our Privacy page.

Without the first consent, Remembite cannot store your meals. If you decline and have never consented before, we delete your sign-in details.

Who receives consumer health data

We do not sell consumer health data. We do not share it with anyone for their own purposes. These recipients get it as described:

RecipientWhat they receiveWhy
The AI assistant you connect: Claude (Anthropic; privacy contact privacy@anthropic.com, privacy policy) or, if you choose to connect it, ChatGPT (OpenAI; see OpenAI’s privacy policy on openai.com)The records the assistant asks for: meals, water, weight readings, daily totals, goals and your saved foods and templates. When you open a meal or day in the Remembite card, small previews of that meal’s photos are included, so Claude or ChatGPT may process themTo show your records in your own conversation when you ask. The assistant’s own terms apply to what it receives.
Akamai Cloud (Linode), Frankfurt, Germany (privacy statement)Everything we store, because it hosts our server and databaseHosting, as our subprocessor
Cloudflare (privacy contact privacyquestions@cloudflare.com, privacy policy)Network traffic to remembite.com, including meal data in transit, and encrypted backup files in its EU R2 storageDNS, proxy, TLS and backup storage, as our subprocessor. Backups are encrypted on our server before upload, and the decryption key is not kept on the server.

The Privacy page lists all our subprocessors, including the ones that never receive meal data. This policy lists no affiliates.

Your rights and how to use them

You can ask us to confirm whether we collect your consumer health data, give you access to it, withdraw your consent, and delete it. In the Remembite app, open the Account page:

  • Access and a list of recipients. Under Export your data, choose Download JSON or Download CSV. The JSON file holds everything Remembite stores about you except photos, including your water entries and water goal, your weight readings and goal weight, your consent history and the apps connected to your account. The CSV file has one row per food you logged and does not include water or weight. Photos come in a separate ZIP: choose Download photos (ZIP). You can export 5 times every 10 minutes. The recipients table above lists who receives your data.
  • Withdraw consent. Under Health data consent, choose Withdraw consent. Remembite stops showing and recording your meals, water, weight readings, meal photos, goals and saved foods, disconnects your AI apps and signs you out on every device. Your data stays until you delete it.
  • Disconnect one app. Under Connected apps, choose Disconnect. That app can keep access for up to 15 minutes.
  • Delete. Under Delete account, type your account email and choose Delete my account. This deletes your meals, meal photos, water entries, weight readings, saved foods, goals, time zone, usage events, consent records, connected apps and sign-in. It cannot be undone.

You can also email hello@remembite.com with any of these requests, and we will reply to you. We respond without undue delay and within 45 days of receiving your request. If we need 45 more days, we tell you within the first 45 days and give the reason.

Backups. We take an encrypted backup of the database every night. A deleted account can remain in backups until they are removed. Backup copies are deleted automatically within 31 days. Photos are backed up too, also encrypted, and a deleted photo stays in backups until then. Deleting a meal also deletes its photos.

Appeal a decision

If we refuse a request, you can appeal. Email hello@remembite.com with the subject “Appeal” and tell us which request you are appealing. We will answer in writing, with our reasons, within 45 days of receiving your appeal. If we deny your appeal, you can contact the Washington State Attorney General’s Office to submit a complaint through its website.

Security

Each account’s data is kept apart from other accounts by row-level security in the database. Traffic to remembite.com passes through Cloudflare TLS. Backups are encrypted with age before they leave our server. Our application logs record event names, counts, timings and a hashed account ID, not meal contents or email addresses.

Changes

If we plan to collect a new category of consumer health data, use it for a new purpose or share it with a new kind of recipient, we will update this page and the date at the top, and ask for your consent first where the law requires it. When we added water logs, body weight and meal photos, existing users were asked to accept the updated notice in the app the first time they log water or weight or add a photo. The rest of Remembite keeps working without it.
