Connect Remembite to ChatGPT (beta)

Using Claude instead? Connect Remembite to Claude

Remembite works in ChatGPT as a custom MCP server, a connector you add by URL. It is in beta, and you add it through developer mode. You do this once. After that you tell ChatGPT what you ate, and Remembite saves the meal.

We tested these steps on 2026-10-19 on ChatGPT web with a Free plan. No paid plan was needed. Remembite is not in the ChatGPT apps directory yet.

Before you start

  • A ChatGPT account that shows Developer mode in its settings. Account and workspace policies apply, so this may vary by region or workspace policy.
  • An email address you can open now. Your free Remembite account is created when you sign in.

Add Remembite to ChatGPT, step by step

  1. Turn on Developer mode

Open Settings and turn on Developer mode (usually under Apps, Advanced settings). If your account does not show it, see Troubleshooting.

  2. Add a custom MCP server

Go to chatgpt.com/plugins. Select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.

Enter the name Remembite and a short description, such as "Food log that saves your meals."

  3. Enter the Remembite URL

Under Connection, choose Public endpoint and enter this URL. Keep the /mcp at the end.

    https://remembite.com/mcp

    Set authentication to OAuth.

  4. Accept the warning and create

ChatGPT shows a risk warning for custom servers. Read it, then select I understand and want to continue.

Select Create as a plugin. Your screen may say Create. ChatGPT then lists the tools it found on the Remembite server.

  5. Sign in and start a chat

Sign in to Remembite when ChatGPT asks, and agree to the health data consent. Details are in Sign in below.

Open a new chat, type @ in the message box and choose Remembite (the name you gave it). If it does not appear, see Troubleshooting.

ChatGPT changes its screens, and this is a beta. If a label differs, check OpenAI's guide to connecting a custom server, which we read on 2026-10-19.

Sign in: two options

The Remembite sign-in page is at app.remembite.com. Enter your email, then choose one:

  • Email link. Open the message from Remembite and select the link.
  • 6-digit code. Type the code from the same email into the sign-in page.

The code and the link each work once and expire in 10 minutes. If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder or see sign-in email problems.

Next, read the health data consent, tick both boxes and choose Agree and continue. Decline cancels. Without consent Remembite cannot store your meals. Remembite stores your meals, water, saved foods and goals, which can reveal health information, so it asks first.

Log your first meal

In the new chat with Remembite enabled, say:

"I had 2 eggs and 150 g of rice for breakfast. Save it in Remembite."

Your AI works out the numbers. ChatGPT may ask you to confirm before it saves, because saving is a write action. Remembite then saves the meal, or sends a question back if a number looks far off. See when Remembite asks again.

In our test, a breakfast was saved with the log_meal tool, and the Remembite card showed inside ChatGPT. Open your dashboard to see the meal. The numbers are estimates. More ideas are in Log a meal.

Limits

  • Beta. ChatGPT custom servers are a beta feature, and menus and labels can change.
  • Developer mode is required. If your account does not show it, see Troubleshooting. Remembite cannot change this.
  • A risk warning. ChatGPT shows one when you add a custom server, and it may ask you to confirm write actions such as saving a meal.
  • Tested on the web. We tested ChatGPT on the web, with a Free plan. We have not tested the ChatGPT mobile apps.
  • Tested with meals. We tested saving a meal. Other tools on the same server, such as water and goals, are not tested in ChatGPT yet.
  • Not in the directory. Remembite is not listed in the ChatGPT apps directory. You add it by URL.
  • Estimates. Your AI works out the numbers. Remembite is a tracking tool and gives no medical advice.

Remove Remembite

You can remove it in two places.

  • In Remembite. Open Account in the Remembite app and disconnect it under Connected apps. After you disconnect, it can keep access for up to 15 minutes.
  • In ChatGPT. Remove Remembite from your ChatGPT settings.

To withdraw your consent or delete your account and meals, see withdraw consent or delete your account.

Troubleshooting

I do not see Developer mode

Account and workspace policies apply to adding custom MCP servers. If you use a work or school workspace, ask its admin. It may also vary by region. Remembite cannot change this.

Your browser may be blocking the pop-up. Allow pop-ups for chatgpt.com, then start the connection again from chatgpt.com/plugins. If the window still does not open, try another browser.

ChatGPT warns about "elevated risk"

ChatGPT shows a risk warning when you add a custom server. It is not an error. Read it, and continue only if you want to. The privacy page explains what Remembite stores.

Remembite does not show up in a chat

Type @ in the message box and choose Remembite. If it is missing or the tool list is empty or out of date, open the connection at chatgpt.com/plugins, refresh the connection, then start a new conversation.

The sign-in email does not arrive

Check your spam folder, then ask for a new code on the sign-in page. More in sign-in email problems.
